I was the first Computer Scientist graduated from University of Pennsylvania
in 1975. Most of my college work was done on mainframes! Programs were
punched on to cards and after waiting in line to submit the program, it was
first compiled and if error-free linked to libraries. All output was paper based!
Calculators from Wang were bolted to the lab benches to prevent theft!
I started professionally in computing in 1975. That's more than 30 years
working on software applications. When I started, my first computer with one
work station (CRT) was a PDP-8 from Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) It
was twice the size of a full size washing machine and had 8kb of memory!
In all that time applications have stayed the same but the platforms for
delivery have changed. Mainframes to mini-computers to micro-computers to the
internet. Each platform change vastly expanded the possible audience of users.
I am expert in application development and understand most all of what
customers want and more importantly what they need and then how to
implement it. I am expert in HTML, XHTML, Javascript, PHP, CSS, Photoshop,
Flash, and numerous other development environments and tools. I create and
develop all of the graphics AND I write all of the content necessary. I'm easy
to talk with and I document and share all of the plans so everyone's on the same
page as the project progresses.
